The Priapus Shot® is a simple procedure that can be done in the office in only a few minutes. To begin the procedure, a numbing lidocaine cream is applied to the penis. Blood is then drawn from the arm and put in a centrifuge. The platelets from the blood are transferred to another tube where a few drops of calcium chloride solution are added. This “tricks” the platelets into thinking they are in the body and that the body has been injured.
