Restore Your Confidence with Hair Restoration Therapy

For both men and women, hair loss can be devastating. And while there are hair restoration treatments available, many rely on painful surgeries to garner results. But now, there is an effective, nonsurgical solution. By using PRP, also known as platelet-rich plasma, Dr. Nestor and the team at the Medical Center of Body Rejuvenation can restore your hair to a thicker, healthier, fuller state.

What Causes Hair Loss?

So many factors can influence hair loss, so it’s not surprising that a staggering percentage of both men and women suffer from some degree of hair loss.

– Genetics
– Hormones
– Stress
– Illness
– Childbirth
– Cosmetic Procedures
– Medical Conditions
– Diet

How Does Platelet-Rich Plasma Result in Hair Growth?

Platelet-rich plasma, PRP, is a concentrate of a patient’s own blood. The concentrate is collected by drawing blood from the patient’s scalp and placing it in a centrifuge. As the blood spins in the centrifuge, the platelets and growth factors are separated and platelet-rich plasma is left. Platelet-rich plasma contains three to five times more platelets, growth hormones and active proteins than regular blood. These factors are important as they help tissue heal after an injury or some sort of trauma. Once the separation process is complete, the platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the patient’s scalp. From here, the patient’s scalp is washed and he or she can leave the office and drive home without any assistance.

Is PRP Right Me?

Whether or not you choose to use PRP for hair restoration therapy is a decision that should be made after careful research, consideration and a consultation with your physician. While only you can decide if PRP is right for you, keep in mind that PRP has been used successfully in the many medical and surgical disciplines for years. The treatment is safe and natural because you are only utilizing the “good” cells from your scalp to generate new hair growth. This means there is zero chance of acquiring an infection in the blood from another individual. Ultimately, while PRP is not considered a cure for hair loss, many patients see tremendous results.
