What’s The Difference Between LipoSelection and liposuction?

At first glance, LipoSelection doesn’t seem all that different from other liposuction and body contouring procedures. It uses similar methods of fat removal, and it produces similar results. However, you will notice that there are actually several differences between LipoSelection and liposuction if you take a closer look at what the procedure involves.

What Is LipoSelection?

LipoSelection is a procedure developed by VASER® that uses an ultrasonic probe to break up and emulsify fat before it is removed from the body. The procedure can specifically target deposits of fat and remove them while leaving the surrounding tissue, nerves and blood vessels practically untouched.

What Areas Can Be Targeted by LipoSelection?

While most liposuction procedures seem to work best when removing fat from larger areas such as the stomach or buttocks, LipoSelection is accurate enough to target and shape smaller areas such as the chin, neck, arms and inner thighs. These areas are relatively delicate, making them difficult to work on during more traditional body contouring procedures.

What Are the Benefits of LipoSelection?

The biggest benefit of LipoSelection over liposuction is that it does far less damage to the surrounding tissue and nerves. Since the fat is liquefied with an ultrasound probe, it can be removed much more easily than in other liposuction procedures. LipoSelection is far less painful than other body sculpting methods, and it comes with a much shorter recovery time. Since much smaller areas of the body can be treated, LipoSelection also provides much more accurate and natural-looking results.

What Are the Risks Involved in LipoSelection?

As with any procedure, LipoSelection may have certain risks. Keep in mind however, LipoSelection is both safer and more accurate than other liposuction methods. Complications such as blood clots and scarring are very rare, and have been minimized further by the LipoSelection method.
