3 Healthy Recipe Ideas for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends and food. Lots and lots of food. This year, why not get a head start on your New Year’s resolution? These three recipes are healthier than traditional Thanksgiving options but don’t skimp on flavor.
Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Chestnuts and Bacon
Ingredients
– 1 ½ pounds brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
– ½ pound center cut bacon, diced
– 1 16 ounce jar of chestnuts, drained
– ½ teaspoon sea salt
– Fresh cracked pepper, to taste
Directions
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven heats, boil the sprouts for about five minutes, until just starting to get tender. Drain the sprouts, and toss them with the chestnuts and bacon, salt and pepper, and bake in a casserole dish for about 30 minutes. Let stand for five minutes and serve.
Garlic Mashed Cauliflower
Ingredients
– 1 bag of frozen cauliflower, 10-12 ounces, prepared as directed on package
– ¼ cup Greek yogurt
– 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
– 3 tablespoons butter
– ½ teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Place the cooked cauliflower into the bowl of your food processor, and blend it until it has the consistency of rice. Pour the riced cauliflower into a bowl and fold in the other ingredients, seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.

– ¼ cup heavy cream
– Cinnamon
Directions
